Thank you for this info. I did not answer the call as I did not know who it was and I immediately started reading the posts here and believed it to be a scammer. As it turns out it was one of my attorneys. I know because he left a message to call him back at an 1-800 #. It was not a scammer as most people have commented on this site. They do not know what they are talking about. Im not saying that there are not scum using skype... but sometimes it is a legit call. AgainThanks for the info about skype.

Agreed. The problem is---the laws which are in place to protect us are woefully antiquated and have not kept up with the explosion of technology, which these scamsters use to commit their crimes. All one can do is access a call blocking device and/or service to discourage them from calling. We subscribe to a call blocking service through our ISP, which automatically blocks selected numbers and basically tells these callers to GET LOST. After a while they finally give up and move on to another target.

I sometimes answer the unwanted phone call with a Turkish language . and the caller asks do you speak English and I continue with a phony language until they hang up. but this 000# I received via voice mail today, next time I will answer promptly by saying Police Department, Detective Baddley speaking, how may I help you?

I missed a call from this number today and they didn't leave a voicemail. I have had several magazine scammers contact me in the last few months so I wouldn't be surprised if that's what it is.
